Schools coaching a roaring success

Lions Sports Academy explains how they work with schools to deliver exceptional coaching sessions

Lions Sports Academy is one of the fastest-growing youth coaching companies in the west London and Surrey areas.

The academy offers exceptional coaching sessions, to over 6,500 students a month, in both secondary and primary schools. Rugby, football, cricket and netball are just some of the sports that Lions currently provides coaches for.

For the schools who work with Lions, the coaching they provide is invaluable. It eases stresses and strains on staffing, adds diversity to the curriculum and offers a platform to build their own physical education lessons.

Coaching for schools includes (but is not limited to) after-school clubs, supply cover and development sessions for teachers. Lions deliver what schools need, when they need it most.

One of the reasons Lions can offer great coaching, to so many students, is because of their Lions Coaches Network.

I have been really impressed with the coaching, I’ve learnt a lot and the kids have too

Their coaching network – consisting of over 100 coaches – includes professional players, experienced coaches and qualified student coaches.

Coaching is often bolstered with additional guest coaches. Previous guests include England rugby flanker Lewis Ludlam and former London Irish winger Topsy Ojo. Recently two of their coaches, Katie Mason and Amy Wilson Hardy, have been part of the England women’s sevens squad. Katie is particularly appreciative of the support and flexibility that Lions offer her as a coach.

Before heading to the HSBC World Sevens Series in Dubai she said: “This wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of the staff at Lions. They allow me to continue chasing my dreams by having time off to represent my country.”

“I have been really impressed with the coaching, I’ve learnt a lot and the kids have too” – Lindsey Wright, PE teacher, St Mary’s School, Chiddingford

“I’m so glad I approached Lions for some 1-2-1 sessions for my son. I chose Lions because my son was about to go for a trial with London Irish. Their help and efforts definitely played a huge part in his success” – Darren Bowman, parent

The support and flexibility, for both employees and schools, is what makes Lions excel at what they do.

It isn’t just schools who are benefiting from Lions excellent coaching. They also offer coaching for clubs, small groups and on an individual basis. For students looking to take their game to the next level, they offer their Athlete Development and personal 1-2-1 programmes.

All Lions coaches hold a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification in their sport, are DBS approved and will always go the extra mile to ensure every student receives the best coaching possible.

Lions have made a real, positive impact to the schools, communities and students they have worked with so far.

Their continued success and growth shows exactly why they are so highly rated.
