UB February edition out now

The Feb edition of University Business magazine, the recruitment issue, is now available to download

Posted by Rebecca Paddick | January 18, 2016 | Events

In the latest issue of University Business magazine, the spotlight is on Southampton Solent University, as it opens its brand new Spark Building. The centrepiece of the new-build is its futuristic pod. The multipurpose space sits at the heart of an impressive five-story atrium. As well as a full-sized lecture room and large video wall, the pod features an open-topped viewing platform with fantastic views across the 18m-long atrium and into the parkland beyond.

Also in this issue, and in keeping with our recruitment theme, we ask, can HE join up recruitment drives with successful student retention?

We also look at the university new-builds with the wow factor, and how they are catching the eye of prospective students far and wide.

And while we’re on the subject of recruitment, our edtech feature examines the evolution of the virtual open day and asks how it can appeal to the overseas student market.

Continuing the Equality in HE series, University of Derby Online Learning (UDOL) Director, Julie Stone, discusses HE’s role in making gender inequality a thing of the past.

If all that wasn’t enough, we’ve got updates from ASRA, CUBO and VWV, as well as some top opinion pieces from Leicester’s V-C Paul Boyle, and the Russell Partnership’s David Russell.

Every issue of UB is packed with the latest news including:

*Campus services and new developments

*People and appointments
*Key association updates
*Opinions and views
*HE catering
*Education technology
*Events and diary
