The three-day event continues to be a calendar highlight for educators looking to stay up-to-date with the world of teaching and learning. With a rich offering of new content, inspiring training and development, and hundreds of pioneering educational suppliers, this year will be no exception! From innovative teaching resources and practices, to networking opportunities with like-minded teachers, the Education Show 2015 is not to be missed.
Networking opportunities at the show this year include the ‘Talk to the Head – Speed Networking’ session and TeachMeet.
‘Talk to the Head’ will take place on Thursday 19 March at 1:00– 1:30pm and invites school leaders to discuss issues one to one with the top heads from across the country. Each school leader will have five minutes with a head on the panel and when the bell rings, school leaders will move on to another panelist. The session will run for 30 minutes in total.
To apply for a space in the ‘Talk to the Head’ networking session, please register your interest as soon as possible, as spaces are very limited. You can do so here.
On the final day of the event, Saturday 21 March, the Education Show will be hosting a TeachMeet at 1:30 – 4:00pm in the Leader Summit Theatre. TeachMeet is an informal gathering for anyone curious about teaching and learning. It encourages education professionals from all sectors to share great ideas they’ve trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations.
The main idea behind TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers themselves. It is not an event to present about a product or theory, but rather a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other.
Presentations will be chosen at random, from a list of topics including: ‘Pitfalls and benefits of mobile devices – a leaders insight’; ‘Making marking speedy and meaningful’ and ‘Using Class Dojo to improve behaviour and engagement’, with many more still to be confirmed. These presentations will each be seven minutes long, although there is also the opportunity to present a shorter two minute discussion of your chosen topic.
If you’d like to sign up to be a part of this year’s TeachMeet, all you need to do is add your name, presentation title and your Twitter ID (if you have one) here and also send your presentation details to the organiser, Ian Addison (mail@ianaddison.net) by 18 March 2015.
