Farlington School librarian, Teresa Stonestreet, has been raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Sarah Watkin, her great-niece, died from cancer at the age of seven, and Stonestreet has been walking in her memory for every year she was on the planet; this was year four of her seven-year pledge.
Last year, she exceeded her fundraising target of £1,000 and hopes to do the same again. The Horsham resident walked a minimum of 10,000 steps every day – during her lunch break, and after school around Farlington’s grounds – to ensure she reached her daily target, and an accumulated distance of approximately 150 miles.

“It is a lovely time of year to get outside to walk after the winter months,” said Stonestreet. “I am fortunate to work in beautiful countryside, which makes my walks very enjoyable, and at weekends I enjoy walking on the beach. I received lots of fantastic support last year, so I hope I will exceed £1000 again this year for this worthwhile cause,” said Teresa.
