Former Wanderers player to join school coaching team

Nicky Hunt will join the team of sports coaches at BSS Leisure

A former Bolton Wanderers defender will join the team of sports coaches at BSS Leisure – part of Bolton School Services – this year.

Nicky Hunt already works part-time in the PE department at Bolton School Boys’ Division and Girls’ Division, where he teaches football to pupils. He also manages and plays for Ashton United in the Northern Premier League.

From February Hunt will deliver football and other sports, as well as holiday camps, for young people between 5–14 years old. BSS Leisure delivers a range of leisure services within the grounds of Bolton School to support local and wider communities to lead active lifestyles. All the profits are put into Bolton School’s bursary fund.

Charlene Griffiths-Jackson, manager of BSS Leisure, said: “I am thrilled that Nicky will join us in the new year. Our holiday camps are highly regarded, Ofsted registered and delivered within Bolton School’s 32 acre campus.

“All our profits are ploughed into the Bolton School bursary fund. Nicky will bring a considerable portfolio of experience and skills and we know children will really benefit from working with him.”

Hunt made 127 Premier League appearances for Wanderers between 2003 and 2008.
