More than a dozen expressions of interest have been received from would-be buyers of a former independent school.
Hethersett Old Hall School opened in 1924 and closed in August, just weeks before the start of the new school year.
An Independent Schools Inspectorate report in March found that welfare, safeguarding and leadership standards were not being met, and that pupil numbers had fallen sharply.
Liquidators estimate that the Norfolk site could fetch up to £4m.
“This is an important site in a key location and we’re keen to secure a positive outcome so that it can be brought back into use as soon as possible,” said George Craig of Savills Norwich, who are selling the facility on behalf of business rescue and insolvency firm, McTear Williams and Wood.
“Several of the buildings are Grade II-listed and their character helps define the identity of the locality. We are expecting interest from a range of sectors including those in education, healthcare, residential and leisure.”
While offers are invited for the whole site, buyers also have the option of negotiating a price for the fixtures and fittings.
The site includes the Grade II-listed main hall and adjacent barn; canteen and dining hall; sixth form block built; the purpose-built junior and pre-prep school added in the early 2000s; and the four-bedroom school house, on its own 0.3 acre plot with separate access.
The academic spaces include arts studios, a swimming pool, science buildings and a sports hall.
