Lady Eleanor Holles appoints new Head

Mrs Heather Hanbury has been appointed headmistress of The Lady Eleanor Holles School from September 2014

The appointment follows the retirement of Mrs Gillian Low.

Having worked as a senior consultant at Touche Ross, and head of corporate fundraising at VSO, Mrs Hanbury turned to a career in education in 1995. Her first appointment was at Blackheath High School where she progressed to Head of Sixth Form.

From there, she moved rapidly via Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls to deputy head at Latymer Upper School before taking over as headmistress at Wimbledon High School in 2008.

She commented: “I look forward with delight and excitement to leading The Lady Eleanor Holles School from strength to strength, enhancing the school experience for every girl and every member of staff, both inside and outside the classroom.”
