LEGOLAND® launches competition to build toy school

LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre have announced their search for a school with some budding builders

LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre are searching for one lucky school to immortalise and join MINILAND® display – a recreation of landmarks throughout the North West made out of more than 1.5 million LEGO® bricks.

The winning school will also have all of its pupil and teachers featured in the display, pupils will be invited to help start the build of their school in the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre’s new Creative Workshop, based at intu Trafford Centre in Manchester.

Resident Master Model Builder, Alex, will be on hand to help the children perfect the building, which will later be finished with a final brick at the school’s grounds. Afterwards, the pupils are invited to the indoor LEGO® playground to be displayed in MINILAND®.

The winning school will also receive its logo made entirely out of LEGO®, and Kids Go Free vouchers for all pupils.

Teachers with a love for LEGO® can download a Design Sheet here. Once the school is sketched, they must take a picture or scan and post it on Facebook/ldcManchester with a name, the school name, the hashtag #MyMINILANDSchool and why you believe your school should win.

The school landmark will sit beside iconic attractions at MINILAND®, such as Coronation Street, Blackpool Tower, Old Trafford and The Etihad Stadium.

Entries for the competition close on 18th June 2017 – to get involved, visit LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre’s website.
