London IT company launches paid internships

The three-year scheme will equip apprentices with the necessary skills to become successful IT providers

London based business Fitzrovia IT is offering sixth form and college graduates the chance to take up a paid apprenticeship at the company starting this September.

Four places are available for the scheme, called ‘The Fitz Academy’, and will be available for individuals with A Level qualifications or the equivalent, who are looking to start their careers in technology and make a mark on the future of IT services and solutions.

A three-year scheme, The Fitz Academy will offer apprentices the chance to benefit from first-class training at Fitzrovia IT’s central London offices whilst gaining the skills necessary to become a successful IT service provider.

The full-time programme will focus on both the technical aspects of the business, as well as the importance of excellent customer service. Apprentices will also have the chance to undertake a number of recognised qualifications throughout the three years, covering topics such as operating systems, disaster recovery, cloud services, coding and logic training, whilst benefiting from an annual salary, payment of travel expenses and a bonus.

The apprenticeships are an ideal opportunity for anyone seriously considering a career in IT who wants to gain the skills and experience necessary at the same time as being paid – Daren Oliver, Managing Director at Fitzrovia IT

Daren Oliver, Managing Director at Fitzrovia IT, said:

“We’ve been running apprenticeships for sixth form and college leavers across various roles for a number of years now with great success. They are an ideal opportunity for anyone seriously considering a career in IT who wants to gain the skills and experience necessary at the same time as being paid.”

Ryan Varney, who is a former apprentice at the company and now works full-time as an Assistant Helpdesk Manager, said:

“The Fitz Academy is the perfect opening into IT and offers the ideal stepping stone for those who are serious about forging a long-term career in the industry.”

Daren added:

“Whilst we can never guarantee a permanent position at the end of an apprenticeship, since starting the scheme, we’ve gone on to employ all our graduates. I can honestly say they have proved to be an extremely worthwhile investment and have become invaluable members of our team.”

The Fitz Academy is open for applications now and closes on 30th August 2017. Applicants must be available to start their apprenticeship in September 2017. Individuals looking to apply should contact Fitzrovia IT for further information on 020 3727 6020 or email thefitzacademy@fitzroviait.com.
