Millfield School has launched a two-pronged campaign to both help gifted children access independent education through bursaries and support sustainability initiatives.
Millfield Transform a Life x #TOGETHER FUND sees the school partner with #TOGETHERBAND, former Millfield pupil Cameron Saul’s bid for a billion-strong global community to hit the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Proceeds from the campaign will be split evenly between #TOGETHERBAND and Millfield’s bursary fund, enabling children from underprivileged backgrounds to undertake an independent education.
Supporters of the campaign will be asked to purchase a wristband representing their favoured goal – such as zero hunger or gender equality – before posting their support on social media channels and donating or fundraising.
The bands are manufactured using ocean-recovered plastic in Nepal, with the clasp made from decommissioned illegal firearms from Central America.
“The Global Goals are a route map to a healthy and sustainable planet, but we’ll only achieve them by joining forces and working together,” said Saul.
“This is why I’m thrilled to launch this campaign with Millfield, raising vital funds and awareness for brilliant projects working hard to achieve the goals, as well as providing opportunities for talented students to attend the school.”

The Millfield old boy, who is the son of Roger Saul – the founder of British luxury fashion brand Mulberry – has assembled a high-profile list of #TOGETHERBAND ambassadors, such as Lewis Hamilton, Naomi Campbell and David Beckham.
The campaign has received support from other notable Millfield alumni, including Dr Sarah Jarvis, the resident doctor on Jeremy Vine’s Radio 2 show; broadcaster and author, Michael Hayman; violinist, Amy Yuan; and squash-playing siblings, Mohamed and Marwan Elshorbagy.
Nicola Pender, head of alumni and foundation at Millfield School, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with #TOGETHERBAND to enable us to transform young people’s lives with Millfield’s bursary programme, but also support the UN Goals for sustainable development which the school-age generation are hugely passionate about.
