Edge Grove has just announced ambitious plans to extend its current pre-school provision following the acquisition of a very local site in Church Lane, Aldenham Village. The new, state-of-the-art pre-school facility is set to open its doors for the first time in September 2017 in time for the new school year.
Extensive renovations on the former Rexton House Nursery building will be completed as the school plans to convert the property into a first-class dedicated pre-school facility, specifically designed for its youngest pupils. Offering an exciting and age-appropriate environment, Edge Grove is also keen to retain close links with its neighbouring larger school site with regular visits to the main school grounds planned.
Headmaster, Ben Evans explained: “We are delighted that interest in Edge Grove has grown considerably over the years and we have long felt a desire to offer a seamless education option for the largest possible number of children which is why we have introduced a third class in Reception this year. There is a limit on the number of pupils we can accommodate on site, so that along with our commitment to provide a high level pre-school entry option, has led to the sensible and exciting decision to open a brand new purpose built facility.”
Building work at the new facility is being managed by an experienced, early years designer, in conjunction with the school architects, ensuring that the children will enjoy a modern, innovative and age-led learning environment, which is at the forefront of pre school education.
Ben continued: “Our new co-educational pre-school will offer a safe and stimulating environment for children from three to four years of age. We always provide a child-centred approach to our learning and development and the new environment will continue to reflect that.”
The impressive new development will be completely redesigned and re-modelled and is set to include three new teaching play rooms, state-of-the-art kitchen facilities, a large covered outdoor play and learning area, cutting edge static play equipment and gardens.
