Rendcomb to reduce fees by 30 per cent

Reduced sixth form fees for Rendcomb College day pupils to make private education more accessible

Rendcomb College, a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged three to 18 near Cheltenham has announced the significant drop in fees with a view to increasing affordability for parents of sixth form pupils.

Headmaster at Rendcomb College, Rob Jones, who has been in post since September, said: “At Rendcomb College, we see our purpose as preparing pupils for life beyond school and sixth form is a turning point in this transition. In addition to the 21 A Level subjects pupils can choose from, our sixth form provision includes independent living, a leadership programme and many co-curricular and outdoor education opportunities giving all students a solid and broad foundation prepared with essential life-skills.

“By reducing the fees for the critical final two years of a pupil’s compulsory education we can offer quality teaching at an affordable price. We are not only recognising the loyalty of our current pupils and parents with this announcement but we are also widening the net for parents looking to invest in the final years of their child’s education.

“A number of our sixth form pupils have been selected for interviews at Oxford and Cambridge this year so we are confident in our provision at this level for academic achievement and in bringing out the best in each individual.

“There really has never been a better time to join Rendcomb College; we are currently building a £3.3m performing arts centre within our 230 acre site which is due to open in 2016 with further development plans in the pipeline.”

The current day fee for sixth form pupils is £21,450 per year and the new fee from September 2016 will be £15,000 per year. Boarding fees will not be affected. Scholarships in Academic, Sport, Music, Drama and Art may still be applied for ahead of sixth form entry and bursaries are also available.

Rendcomb College was founded in 1920 by Noel Wills with an ethos that remains true; to provide a learning environment that offers both inclusivity and a broad-ranging education for its pupils.
