Rydal pupils brush up on royal wedding

The Year 4 group received a special message of thanks for their work on an art project to commemorate the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Year 4 group at Rydal Penrhos were tasked with producing artwork to mark the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

During the task, each pupil drew their own depiction of the newlyweds, before teacher Julie Woodthorpe sent them down to Buckingham Palace for the pair to see them for themselves.

In recognition of their work, Harry and Meghan took the time to write a special letter of thanks to the year group and provided them with a commemorative picture of the couple on their special day.

This has now taken pride of place outside Miss Woodthorpe’s classroom and they showed it to the entire Rydal Penrhos Prep School contingent at their weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, September 21.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “The royal wedding really captured the imagination of not only the whole nation, but also our enthusiastic pupils here at Rydal Penrhos, and they were all hugely excited to see the letter and picture from the iconic couple.”
