Sir Tony Robinson and Ed Stafford to speak at Bett

Broadcasters to join Discovery Education in the BETT Arena in January

Discovery Education will be partnering with two of the UK’s best known broadcasters at January’s BETT 2017 show.

Sir Tony Robinson and Ed Stafford will bring their own unique sense of adventure to the world’s biggest education technology fair, leading sessions in the BETT Arena and joining pupils and teachers on the Discovery Education stand.

The pair, who present popular Discovery Channel programmes such as Marooned and Wild West, will take the stage on Thursday 26 January and are set to inspire audiences with their amazing tales of exploration – both of history and the world around us. Their sessions will encourage teachers and pupils to look beyond the confines of the classroom and highlight the important role which technology can play in inspiring 21st century learners.

Sir Tony Robinson, actor, presenter and historian, will share stories from his stellar career, explaining how a fascination for history and sense of adventure have inspired his own quest for learning.

Ed Stafford, renowned adventurer, explorer and broadcaster, will share his views on why the spirit of exploration is so important in today’s world, underlining the importance of technology in encouraging children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn.

Both broadcasters will also join the Discovery Education stand (F200) where they will meet with teachers and pupils from schools across the UK.

The role of technology in transforming education will be firmly on the agenda at BETT, and Discovery Education will be unveiling exciting new additions to its digital learning service at the 2017 show – including a brand new Video Zone. With exclusive clips from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Discovery Science, the new content will enable teachers to really bring lessons to life, and encourage pupils’ virtual exploration.
