Social media targets private schools

Acknowledge Xc, a social media platform which trumpets pupils’ successes, is seeking financial backing via crowdfunding site

Family members may soon be able to watch and encourage the progress of their loved ones via a new online social platform.

The Acknowledge Xc platform works alongside a school’s existing network to allow pupils to create an online profile showcasing videos, pictures and highlights of their academic achievements and extra-curricular activities. It can then be shared securely with their nearest and dearest who will have personalised login access to the profile.

The start-up business, which is offering 15% equity for £100,000 to investors on crowdfunding site Funding Tree, says the platform can also be used to supplement a pupil’s academic CV, which in turn can aid in university and school applications by highlighting their past commitments and extra-curricular activities.

Acknowledge Xc will initially target UK independent school pupils though ultimately the platform will be marketed internationally.

Dillen Iyavoo, CEO and co-founder of Funding Tree, commented: “We’re extremely proud to support another fantastic innovation designed to inspire our youngsters to greater things and help more of them fulfil their potential. Acknowledge Xc’s platform is aimed at a large global market; its technology is impressive and its appeal clear.”
