Stoke students win Ipswich High School scholarship

The three students from Stoke High School will be joining Ipswich High School this September

Three star students from Stoke High School have been awarded Ipswich High School’s prestigious new Elliston Award for entry into the Sixth Form.

Krista, Maryam and Ruby applied to the Ipswich High School Sixth Form after the School announced its new Elliston Award to the value of up to 50% of school fees. All of the students submitted strong applications, performed well in the entrance examination and impressed the School’s Senior Leadership Team during the interview process.

All three girls have now accepted their places at the Sixth Form and are looking forward to making their final A Level choices and joining the September 2017 Year 12 cohort.

Director of Sixth Form, Ipswich High School, Rob Hastings said that the school is delighted with the calibre of this year’s applicants. “The Elliston Award has allowed us to attract strong pupils from state schools who would not otherwise have considered our Sixth Form. Krista, Maryam and Ruby are all excellent students with a real passion for learning and I am confident that Ipswich High School will provide a strong education and the support they need to flourish,” he said.

Principal of Stoke High School, Glenn Mellor commented:“We are enormously proud of our talented students for this wonderful achievement. At Stoke High, we are committed to ensuring all our students have access to the opportunities that will allow them to go on and succeed, and we have been delighted to support Krista, Maryam and Ruby in their endeavour to attend Ipswich High School. We wish them the best of luck for the future, and know they will inspire other Stoke High students to aim high.”
