Surrey school joins United Learning

The Royal School became part of the group of academies and fee-paying independent schools on 1 November

The Royal School, Surrey, has joined the United Learning group of academies and fee-paying independent schools.

“We are joining a group that appreciates and promotes ‘education with character’,” said school principal, Anne Lynch.

“This combination of academic success and the development of wider skills is something in which we believe strongly and which our excellent results demonstrate in full.”

Other institutions under the United Learning banner include Guildford High School, Surbiton High School, Ashford School and Dunottar School.

“We are ambitious in our plans to build on the Royal School’s existing strengths and to secure its long-term future as a thriving coeducational independent school,” said a United Learning spokesperson.
