I am delighted to say that this is IE’s 100th issue! Even though I have only been part of the team for the past eight issues, I am proud to see it reach this milestone. In light of this fact, you will notice a few new touches, including dedicated sections for news, comment, features and events, so you can find the content you’re looking for more easily.
In the news section you will find all the latest reports at the beginning, followed by articles on areas like catering, sport and international education.
You’ll find our relatively new School Spotlight feature (page 44) at the start of the features section, where we shine a light on some of the most innovative independent schools around – this month I visited King’s Bruton in Somerset.
Talking Heads (page 78) has moved to the back of the magazine. In this issue we posed the question: how has your school changed over the past 100 years? The answers we received were fascinating. From location changes to more co-educational schools, it was good to see that many of the heads still consider their key values the same – mainly, offering high-quality education.
On page 49 Karis Copp has taken an in-depth look at how tablets can be implemented effectively into classrooms in a way that is mutually beneficial to both students and teachers. Alderley Edge School for Girls, Cranleigh School, Putney High School and Wimbledon High School all share their stories of success.
