Transform your teaching technology with Toshiba

We understand that technology can & should play a key role in education, but also realise that barriers to adoption still exist

We understand that technology can and should play a key role in education and the wider learning experience, but also realise that many barriers to adoption still exist – from limited budgets to a lack of dedicated IT expertise, many schools may feel they lack the resources to truly benefit from the myriad of ways technology can help both teachers and pupils today.

That’s why we decided to launch Toshiba Transform, a new cloud solution service designed to help schools maximise their existing IT capabilities, but without having to invest significant time, money or resource. We also understand that every school is different, with varying requirements dependent on their individual circumstances, which is why our service is completely bespoke and open to any school regardless of its size or current IT hardware provider. Another key aspect of Toshiba Transform is its focus on helping schools transition towards Microsoft’s free or low-cost Office 365 education suite, which is regularly under-employed in schools today.

BETT 2017 was the first real outing for Toshiba Transform, and we were delighted with the response to our offer of free consultations at the show. We were able to discuss first-hand with educators the challenges they face and the tangible benefits our service could deliver to them – whether that’s by enabling students to benefit from using OneNote in lessons as an alternative to traditional exercise books, or helping establishments with their adoption of Office 365.

These are just a couple of examples of how we’re enabling schools to maximise their IT capabilities with Toshiba Transform – our vastly experienced team is always on hand to share best practice advice about the hardware and software tools that best support teaching and learning for the least amount of investment. We know that ultimately, teachers want to be able to focus on what really matters – the teaching. It’s essential that they’re able to easily create highly engaging content and lesson plans in minimal time, without getting bogged down in lengthy administrative tasks. Easy-to-use and widely available tools such as SharePoint and SSO, for example, can increase process efficiencies, as well as enable teachers to securely access vital information on almost any device, at a time and location that is convenient to them.

Our longstanding heritage within the education sector – and the expertise we’ve picked up along the way – means that we’re best-placed to support schools transition to this style of modern, efficient and secure working, both inside and outside of the classroom. We’re already doing this with a range of initiatives and services introduced to cater to the evolving needs and challenges of educators. For example, our Self Maintainer Scheme is used by a number of schools as a way of allowing students to grow their IT skills by taking control of their school’s IT repairs and becoming involved in the day-to-day maintenance of the devices. Toshiba Transform is the next step in this ongoing process, as we continue to work side-by-side with educators to ensure pupils benefit from the best education experience possible.
