Tree planting tradition at Burgess Hill

Pupil at Burgess Hill School for Girls retires from her position as head girl in traditional tree planting farewell ceremony

Lily Williams, head girl, planted a tree in the school grounds as part of a traditional farewell on 9th May. The head girl’s tree planting ceremony at Burgess Hill School for Girls is in its 32nd year, and the grounds benefit from a beautiful collection of trees of varying species.

Senior school students watched the ceremony for Lily who also gave a tribute speech to each of her school officer colleagues.
