Vaulting to the top

Farlington School’s Tamsin Campbell is the UK’s number one under-17 pole vaulter after beating her own personal best

On Saturday 24 January fifteen-year-old Tamsin Campbell attended the London Indoor Games at Lee Valley Athletics Centre and won with a personal best of 3.51m. This also places the year 11 student fifth on the south of England all-time list.

Last summer Tamsin was awarded talented athlete achievement support by the GLL Sport Foundation. She features on the foundation’s website as a supported athlete and receives a grant to cover equipment, training and competition costs, and free K2 membership.

Sara Whittaker, director of PE and games at Farlington, says: “Tamsin is a very talented athlete who is working hard to fulfil her potential. She has great determination and is one of our outstanding sports scholars.”
