Schools are rated on a scale from ‘unsatisfactory’, ‘sound’, ‘good’ to ‘excellent’. Wolverhampton Grammar School was found to be ‘excellent’ in all areas.

The ISI’s work included lengthy preparation examining regulatory information provided by the school, a formal inspection in school, surveys with parents and students, as well as interviews with staff, Directors and students. After the inspection they concluded:

•   The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is Excellent

•   The quality of the pupils’ personal development is Excellent

•   The school is fully compliant with all statutory regulations and requirements

Their conclusions were supported by the pupil and parent questionnaires completed for the inspectors. The response rate for both was astonishing and inspectors commented that it was one of the highest student and parent response rates that they had experienced.
