Farlington shines in Telegraph smaller schools league table

Results table for small schools' A level results puts Farlington School in third place

Farlington School has come third in The Telegraph’s latest Independent Smaller Schools A level results table, making it the top performing smaller independent school in the South East of England.

Students at Farlington’s sixth form have attained excellent results this year: 80.6% of girls received grades A*-B.

The table ranks schools by the percentage of subject entries graded A* and A. To qualify as a small school, there must be 24 candidates or fewer entered for A level. The data is supplied by the Independent Schools Council.

Farlington Sixth Form Centre has a library, dedicated IT facilities, including wireless internet, seminar rooms, two common rooms and a kitchen. This enables the sixth form to retain its individual character and atmosphere whilst remaining an integral part of the school.  Class sizes are kept small, enabling every student to participate actively, and Farlington’s outstanding teachers ensure students attain their true potential with impressive ‘value added’ scores.

Louise Higson, Farlington’s Headmistress, comments: “I am delighted that our A level results have featured so well in The Telegraph’s league table. Examination results are important, but we also offer outstanding pastoral care and preparation for the future. Opportunities to participate in the Young Enterprise Scheme, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and voluntary service placements are important extra-curricular initiatives which help prepare students for life beyond school.”
