Former pupil’s gift to fund two school places

The late Robert Greenwood was given a free place at Solihull in 1946

A former pupil has left a lasting legacy to Solihull School in gratitude for the education he received there.

Robert Greenwood, known as Bob, was given a free place at Solihull in 1946. He was a member of both the drama society and naval cadets, as well as being house captain for athletics.

Bob died this summer, aged 83, leaving his entire estate to the Silhillian Fund, which provides full bursaries for pupils. It is likely this will pay for two sixth form places.
