Walters & Cohen has been appointed to develop a masterplan for Packwood Haugh School, a coeducational pre-prep and preparatory school set in a 66-acre site in Shropshire.
The masterplan will be developed in line with the boarding school’s plans to improve the quality of education on offer and to increase its pupil capacity. Walters & Cohen’s masterplan considers options for modern science facilities, expanded nursery provision and a revamped junior teaching block, and provides a comprehensive review of existing accommodation, traffic flow and user experience. The masterplan is the first step in growing specific areas of the school and increasing its presence in the area.
Michal Cohen, director at Walters & Cohen, said: “This project is an exciting opportunity to enhance a school which already has a leading national reputation for its curriculum and facilities. We believe that the masterplan will provide a long-term focus for the school over the next few decades by planning and coordinating a sequence of redevelopment across the whole school site. We are looking forward to working closely with the school to develop its vision and estate.”
