The week that we sent the October issue to press, London Fashion Week was underway and the world’s top designers were showcasing the latest trends. It seemed fitting then, that this issue is focusses on school uniform and how independent schools are embracing new styles. On page 25, our special report features a selection of schools who are modernising their uniform and using the latest technology to ensure that it meets the needs of the 21st century pupil. Plus, at least 120 schools now have a gender-neutral school uniform policy as they are keen to embrace cultural diversity.
Elsewhere in this issue, I visit Eaton Square Upper School on page 11, a new senior school in the heart of London. It was a delight to see the school before they opened their doors for the first time in September 2017 and I am excited to see the school grow in the years to come.
We also have a special focus on school leaders on pages 18-23, where I have invited headteachers and thought-leaders to discuss their opinions about leadership today. Viv Grant’s article on page 18 is particularly poignant. As always, if you would like to contribute to Independent Education Today please get in touch via Lucinda.reid@wildfirecomms.co.uk. I would love to hear from you!
