Independent college, DLD College London is consolidating its senior team with the appointment of highly experienced boarding school housemaster, Thomas Hadcroft.

Tom joins the Westminster Bridge-based college to take on the role of Deputy Principal for Boarding and Welfare. His role will see him strengthen support within boarding provisions which have significantly increased for the new academic year following an influx of students enrolling at the college.

This month marks the one-year anniversary that DLD College London moved to its brand new purpose built facility, which boasts a 1- floor boarding house. The contemporary en-suite accommodation sits above the main college with 200 fully equipped and secure rooms divided by gender and age.

Tom is committed to strengthening the college’s excellent support structures and will draw on his wealth of experience from both the UK and international educational facilities. He joins from Collége Alpin Beau Soleil, an international boarding school in the Swiss Alps where he spent five years as senior houseparent. Prior to this he worked as Assistant Boarding Housemaster and Head of Department at St John’s School, Leatherhead for six years.

Tom also has experience as an International School Accreditor for CIS and is also currently working towards a PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning.

Principal at DLD College London, Rachel Borland, commented: “We are very excited about this new appointment and we are sure Tom will be an instrumental part of the Senior Leadership Team. He has a particular interest in the emotional wellbeing of students. Tom is keen to provide an enhanced framework ensuring the whole community is focussed on realising the individual potential of the students and that each one is well equipped to meet future challenges.

“We look forward to beginning the new term with Tom and seeing the impact he makes on our already well established boarding facility.”

Tom commented: “I am excited to be joining such a prestigious college which is situated in such a fantastic building and area. The boarding facilities are amongst the most exceptional on-site accommodation in London. I am sure the students will feel very comfortable here and I will do my very best to ensure they are.”
