The October issue is out now, which I'm sad to say is my last edition as editor of Independent Education Today. I'm moving on to a new role abroad, but will remain involved and interested in the thriving global education sector.
Through the last 13 issues, I've been proud to share your achievements and opinions in all aspects of school life, as you work to bring out the best in your talented students. These are challenging times as students look towards future careers so different to our own, but I'm confident that the UK and international education sector can rise to the challenge.
In this issue, we look at schools making a difference overseas (page 14), making the most of their alumni network (page 24) and making strides in GCSEs for another year. As we come down from the excitement of the Rio Olympics, I also had the opportunity to catch up with Director of Sport at Millfield School, David Faulkner, about how the school develops so many top athletes (page 13). Our resident columnist Hilary Moriarty was also inspired by the Games - see her latest article on page 18.
Love sport? Our dedicated quarterly school sports mag Independent School Sport (ISS) is also out now, celebrating the latest sporting achievements. Want to be featured in ISS? Send us your news and views here.
That's all from me – goodbye and keep up the good work!
